One of our machines leaves for Zaragoza this week, having been chosen by a chemical plant to fill peracetic acid - a colorless, tremendously corrosive organic substance.
Our filling equipment is prepared to fill all sorts of substances, all the way from food products to corrosive substances, and this time one of our machines will end up working in the chemical sector.
Peracetic acid, also known as peroxiacetic acid, is an organic chemical compound (chemical formula: CH3CO3H). This organic peroxide is a colorless liquid with a very characteristic bitter smell that somewhat reminds of that of acetic acid. It can be highly corrosive.
Peracetic acid’s main use is in industrial synthesizing of epoxies. It transfers a single oxygen atom to double bonds in molecules, such as those found in ethylene and propylene, to create epoxies and alcohols.
Peracetic acid is a powerful antimicrobial agent thanks to its high oxidizing potential. It’s widely effective against most microorganisms, and it’s not neutralized by the catalase and peroxidase enzymes, which do break hydrogen peroxide. It denatures into safe, environmentally-friendly residues such as acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide, and therefore it may be used in rinse-less machinery. Its more frequent uses are as disinfectant or bleaching agent.
Recommended uses include agricultural installations, food establishments, medical facilities, and bathrooms.
This substance may be used as a water disinfectant in water towers in order to prevent formation of biological films and effectively keep the legionella bacteria under control.
This chemical plant has chosen our SP1 model due to its unmatched versatility and resistance to corrosive products.
For years, they’ve been filling their product in a more manual way, unable to ensure production quality nor the proper certification of their weighing equipment.
From now on, thanks to our equipment, they will triple their productivity and output their 25, 50, 200 and 1,000 liter container formats to the industrial plants they supply product to for its subsequent treatment and processing.
The SP1 is one of AiCROV’s best selling machines, thanks to its robust build, its sturdiness, its versatility, its capacity, etc. It’s a semiautomatic filling machine designed for filling palletized containers ranging from 25 to 1500kg. Automatic weight filling. Manual container feed and evacuation. Available in Atex version for hazard areas, or with below-surface filling mode. Transportable format. Electro-pneumatic controls. Does not require installation.
The SP1 model can bring you production speeds up to 60 200l drums an hour, or 13 IBCs an hour.
Power requirements: 220 VAC 50 Hz
Pneumatic feed requirements: 6 bar
